“LET’S WORK TOGETHER” and plant SEEDS OF CHANGE
“LET’S WORK TOGETHER” and plant SEEDS OF CHANGE Turner, Langston, Walker, Lincoln … SEEDS OF CHANGE is a multi-media art community exhibition/happening that promotes peace, education and awareness regarding America and our local communities though various forms of art and the collaborative aspects of the arts. The show will last three weeks. We encourage interactive, participatory and performance work in addition to 2 and 3 Dimensional pieces. There will be a platform whereby citizens can make their own megaphones and speak out on the “soap box” expressing their citizen views. The facility has the following: Video and Stage Area (seats 40 +) Black Light Area Well-lighted wall space Coffee Bar The exhibition will be held in the new space SHOPKEEPER’S Gallery on the second floor of Hewitt’s Antiques at 228 N. Market, Wichita, Kansas. The phone at Hewitt’s is: 316-264-2450. Deliver all work September 4th from 10:00am – 5:00pm September 5th from 1:00 – 5:00pm Tape a packet to the work with a list of images, titles, with price and your own wall labels which include other information for wall mounting. September 10th Exhibition opens. Runs from 6:00 – 10 pm September 24th Exhibition Closes Runs from 6:00 – 10 pm Pick up all work September 25th from 10:00 am to5pm September 26th from 1:00pm -5:00pm Make arrangements to get your work in these time frames. Sorry we can’t be responsible for damage or theft of work. Each artist may submit up to three pieces or an installation. Large works and installations need to be discussed with Ed Langston or Mark Walker. We need your commitment along with a $15.00 entry Fee on or before June 21st. Please send a list of each work entered and its description, dimensions, and price. There will be no commission on art work that is sold. All sold work must remain in the show until after the exhibition closes. The artist is responsible for making their own price list and wall mounting labels. All wall pieces must be ready to hang and be labeled on the back with the description that matches a written list. Send your entry lists and fee to Ed Langston with checks made out to “ ShopKeeper’s Gallery.” Performance artists are not expected to pay an entry fee but must sign up to secure a time slot. Plan on a maximum performance duration of 15 minutes. Make arrangements with Ed Langston to be included on the schedule for all performances. Exhibition materials, postcards and or some form of public press release and general information will be sent out in late August. We hope to work with groups in town coordinating for and toward shaping, showing and making this a remarkable exhibition. If you wish to sign up as a volunteer please call Diane Lincoln.
